Come Walk With Us
The Pier Cove Ravine is an area of land approximately 100 acres between Lake Michigan on the West, 123rd St on the North and I96 on the East. The southern border lies ½ mile south of 123rd Ave.
Mr. O.C. Simonds, a landscape architect from Chicago and originally Grand Rapids, became aware of this beauty of Pier Cove in 1876. By 1885 the timber was gone, and the village had disappeared as fast as it had grown. O.C. brought the beauty back for all to enjoy.
The Pier Cove Ravine Trust was formed in May 1973 to maintain and uphold this property. The mission of the trust is to preserve the land in its natural and undeveloped state. Most of the work on the paths and foot bridges across the creek is done by volunteers. Our funding is provided by annual membership donations. Our Ravine is a Michigan Wildlife Sanctuary.
Join us to help continue this special place for generations to follow.
